Skyfall Title Sequence

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4gdhsVKTcs
The title sequence in the James Bond film named “Skyfall” is unconventional as it shows the title at the beginning of the sequence whereas you would normally see it at the end. The song used in the sequence is unique because they have written a song to fit the sequence whereas other films would borrow songs from other artists so the sequence would fit the song. This has become a convention of the Bond films but is unconventional to the wide spread of other films.

This title sequence is very effective at establishing the genre of the film being crime/action/thriller. You know it is a thriller because there is constant imagery of death by showing skulls and gravestones and this may be done to foreshadow a death of a main character in the movie. You know it is a crime/action because of the constant imagery of knives, guns and James shooting silhouettes of others men.

The title sequence is very effective at enticing the audience using enigma. Enigma is developed from using a silhouette of a man that the viewer can partially see holding a gun and the same building is constantly being shown, this shows they have significance to the story and or plot of the film.
